Firefox Download Day – how many from Singapore?
Posted by otterman on 17 June 2008
It was yet another exercise to realise how small we are here in Singapore. It took a significant magnification before the mouse pointer would reveal Singapore data!
So its more than 6,000 of us who will be getting alerts by email to try for the world record in downloading Firefox 3. I can’t confess to staying excited, since I am already using the beta and so much of teaching, admin and Toddycats projects are crowding my time now.
Still hope I get some of my blue E captive friends excited enough to try. Hope over to spreadfirefox.com and take a look.
As to when the record clock starts ticking? Well I saw a comment somewhere that it starts at 1pm PDT + 24 hours. If that is the case, Wednesday morning will be comfortable for us in Singapore. Anyway, if you sign up, they will let you know. [Update: mozillafirefox via twitter: "Download Day starts at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time on Tuesday, June 17th." i.e. we have from Wed 1am to Thu 1am in Singapore.]
P.s. For pledge ranking by population size, Singapore stands at no. 29. Hat tip – Standblog.
