Twitter by SMS (Singapore)

Posted by otterman on 5 April 2009

jymster provides a SMS gateway which you can use for free to send twitter updates by phone. It no longer requires your password I saw some of my friends begin to try it out throughout that day. Thanks @jymster!

Twitter has become micro-blogging for many of us slacker bloggers as its easier, takes a much shorter time, reaches more friends (listening on facebook) and receives frequent responses. It can also substitute for short IM exchanges and a friendly word with some long-time friend.

Twitter also connects me to my various ethernet-dwelling friends in their particular domains – updates go to strangers on Twitter (my account is open; no maintenance), acquaintances on Plaxo (even work connections are approved but maintenance infrequent) and friends on Facebook (restricted to people I actually know; maintenance rare).

I think I lost my blogging kung-fu when I switched to WordPress on MarsEdit in 2008. And its been a hiatus since. I’m keen to returning to blogging comprehensive pieces like I used to, especially on the badly neglected Habitatnews. Eventually.
