I meet my cycling kakis, Zendogs, as usual tomorrow and we will move out at 6.30am from Holland Village Starbucks. Then we head via ECP to Changi, a fast pleasant route along a not so crowed coastal park connector at that time in the morning. Two might join us at the western end of ECP via the Bishan-Kallang obstacle course. During breakfast at Changi Village, two more might join us with rented bikes.
At around 9am, two will head back down ECP while the rest head for the Serangoon/Punggol reservoirs (the North-Eastern Riverine Loop), which we will join via Lorong Halus after snaking through an industrial estate in Pasir Ris. See route on Bikely.
We ride northern up Serangoon Reservoir to Johor Straits and the tide gets really high by noon, so it will be nice to be near the coast at midday. But it is likely we will pass by this area much earlier and loop and down the eastern bank of Punggol Reservoir to emerge at Lorong Buangkok.
Depending on what and how long we explore the Pasir Ris/Punggol area, it might be time for lunch at either Casuarina Road or The Prata Place near Rosyth Road.
After lunch, I ride back with the students who rented bicycles and see them off at Changi Village and then return via the south, then either through Chinatown or Pasir Panjang. I still have marking to do, and by this time will be on my own or with a speedy kaki so will opt for a fast route back.
It’ll be nice to head out on longer rides soon!
