The post-National Day Mangrove Cleanup @ Lim Chu Kang – join us on our 6th year on Saturday!

In 2008, I organised the first pre-National Day mangrove cleanup at Lim Chu kang to give Ms Earth contestants a workout. I loved this way of celebrating National Day so I called for eager hands to get together for a workout every year since, to rid this precious mangrove patch of the curse of marine trash.

In recent years, the haul has been:

2012 – 38 volunteers clear 669kg of trash in 83 trash bags
2011 – 64 volunteers clear 1187.5kg of trash in 133 trash bags + numerous bulky items.
2010 – 42 volunteers clear 811.3kg of trash in 116 trash bags + 20 bulky items.
